Privacy

• Your account. Name, email address and sign-in details. If you sign in with Square, we also store your Square merchant ID.
• Your sales, if you connect Square. Your business name, your locations, your item catalogue, and what sold on each completed order: the item, how many, and for how much. We ask Square for read-only access. We do not read or store your customers’ names, contact details, or card details.
• Files you upload. If you send us a sales export instead of connecting Square, we keep that file to build your history.
• Waitlist details. If you join the waitlist: your name, email, bakery name, country, and anything you write in the note.
• Basic technical logs. IP address, browser type, and when you signed in. Standard for any web app; we use it to keep accounts safe.

One reason: to tell you how much to bake tomorrow. Your sales history is what the forecast learns from. Weather comes from Open-Meteo and is looked up using only your shop’s location.

We may use aggregated, de-identified data across bakeries to make forecasts better for everyone. That data can’t be traced back to you or your shop.

We don’t sell your data. We don’t show ads. We don’t share your data with anyone except the services below that we need to run the product.

We use a small number of providers to run Bakery Forecast. Each only gets what it needs to do its job:

• Square — the connection you authorise, so we can read your sales.
• Vercel — hosts the app and stores uploaded files.
• Neon — the database where your account and sales history live.
• Resend — sends email on our behalf.
• Google — waitlist signups are also copied to a Google Sheet, and the site’s fonts load from Google Fonts.
• Open-Meteo — weather, looked up by your shop’s coordinates only.

Some of these are outside the UK. Where data leaves the UK, it’s covered by the UK’s standard data-transfer terms.

You can let an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT read your bake plan. That only happens if you connect one yourself, and it’s read-only. You can see and revoke every connection from Settings in the app at any time.

For as long as you have an account. Disconnect Square and we stop syncing and revoke our access token straight away. Delete your account and we remove your data within 30 days; backups roll off shortly after that. If you’d rather we did it for you, email privacy@bakeryforecast.com.

Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest. Square access tokens are additionally encrypted with a key kept separate from the database. Our Square access is read-only, so even in the worst case nothing about your Square account can be changed through us.

Two, both essential: one that keeps you signed in, and one that remembers which shop you’re looking at. No analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no trackers.

Under UK data-protection law you can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, take a copy, or object to how we use it. Email privacy@bakeryforecast.com and we’ll sort it out. If you’re unhappy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
